Here is a map of Haiti and where I'll be staying. If anyone is interested in helping the orphans, you can send to Sharon Gralnick, 16 Myrtle St, Brattleboro,VT 05301
In Haiti, the children of the orphanage Foyer Evangelique are lacking the most basic necessities that children in America have access to—like toiletries and toys and school supplies—and that every child deserves. Brattleboro, Vermont resident, Mariam Diallo will travel to Haiti, beginning March 31st, to volunteer for the 2nd time. She will post updates and will accept donations to continue her humanitarian work, in order to bring about change and help the children of Haiti.

HI READERS OF MARIAM'S BLOG (dede here!). Maraim asked me to post this email so you all could read about how she is doing! Here goes:
ReplyDeleteHi,
How are you?
We are fine here and people are very nice here, they treat us like family at
the orphanage. I love the Haitian culture. It is very hot and humid, it is
hard to sleep sometimes. They have electricity only for 4 hours usually,
sometimes people can go days without electricity. We have been eating rice
and beans a lot, that's what their staple food. We only drink bottled
water. Most hatian families have no runing water and we take shower in a
bucket. I have some many pictures to share with everybody, next time I come
to the "Cyber Cafe" I'll try to upload some if they allow me.
I have some many stories to tell too, but not enougth time to share.
What's new on the other side of the world? I don't get news here.
